What to bring on an Alanya quad or buggy safari

Sunglasses, something for your neck, sun protection, and water if you like having your own. A helmet is provided, so that is one thing you do not need. Everything else is comfort rather than requirement — this is a short off-road ride, not an expedition.

The list

Six things, none of them expensive, and the first two are the ones guests thank themselves for.

Sunglasses matter because there is no windscreen on a quad and the track gets dusty. Something over your neck matters for the same reason.

  • Sunglasses
  • A bandana or something for your neck
  • Sun protection
  • Comfortable clothes you do not mind getting dirty
  • Comfortable, closed shoes
  • Water, if you like having your own

What you do not need to bring

A helmet. One is provided, included in the price and worn for the whole safari — bringing your own is not necessary and not expected.

Nothing else is required equipment. If a list somewhere tells you to bring gloves, goggles or protective gear for this tour, that list is not ours.

Phones and cameras — the honest version

You can bring one. Whether you want to is a different question: you will have both hands on the controls for most of the ride, and the environment is dust and vibration.

If you do bring a phone, put it somewhere it cannot fall out, and take your photographs at a standstill rather than one-handed at speed. We would rather say that plainly than pretend the question does not come up.

A spare shirt is not a silly idea

Especially if you have plans straight afterwards. Off-road means dust, and on some days mud and water as well. Nothing about that is guaranteed either way, but it is why the what-to-wear advice on this site is what it is.

A towel in the bag falls into the same category: rarely essential, occasionally the best thing you brought.
