Before anything else: the pick-up
Your day starts in your hotel lobby, not at the safari base. A transfer collects you, and the time it comes is worked out from where your hotel sits on that day's route — which is why we confirm it to you after you book rather than printing one time for everybody.
If you booked the session that starts at 08:00, your collection is earlier than that. Same for 13:00. It is the single detail guests most often assume, and the one worth having straight before the morning arrives.
At the base, before you touch a vehicle
You arrive, and nothing happens quickly. The team explains the route and the vehicles, then runs the safety briefing: how to handle the machine, how to ride in a group, what to do and what not to do. Then you are shown your own vehicle and how it works.
It sounds like a lot of standing around. It is about twenty minutes of the day and it is the reason someone who has never sat on a quad ends up riding the same trail as someone who has.
The test drive
Every driver takes one. It is short, on flat practice ground, and it is where the briefing stops being words. The guides watch, and they decide from it whether you take the route as a driver.
Most people pass without noticing they were being assessed. If the answer is no, you ride the same route as a passenger with a driver at half price — nobody is left behind and nobody is sent home.
The ride
This is the part you came for: 1.5 to 2 hours of guided off-road through mountain terrain, forest tracks and natural river-bed ground, at whatever pace the group can hold. You drive; the guide picks the line.
Expect dust. Some days expect mud and water too. That is the reason every practical page on this site says the same thing about what to wear.
And back
The same transfer returns you toward your hotel or meeting point, and the return is part of the included transfer — nothing to arrange and nothing to settle at the end.
You pay on the day of the tour. Nothing is charged on this website and no card details are taken here.
